GT275 What would you do?

Posted here before about this machine.

GT275 with 48 inch deck, hydro trans runs good.

Along with the previously mentioned hood cracked and gone to heck, I hit a tree root with the back guage wheel of the deck and knocked it completely off. Deck had rusted and now a hole where the guage wheel was mounted.

Would you try to fix this or just scrap it?

Of course I can't get a good used hood. New will be 300. Don't know about a used deck.

I replied to you other thread then saw this one. If you tractor runs fine but the hood and deck need replacing, then I`d look for another GT of the same era(242, 262, etc.) on CL. Maybe you can find one that is dead but has a useable hood and deck. Also, find out which hoods and decks from other models are compatible. Hopefully someone here will know.

Otherwise, I`d look for a good used GT or GX series on CL. A comparable new X500 series runs $5200 to start. Good luck.

I've got a GT275 with a good hood and good deck that I would be interested in selling. Actually everything on it's good, but the engine. It locked up and I bought a zero turn. I live in Alabama, but am coming to Tampa on March 15. PM me if your interested.
