at just a glance, the cub looks like the better deal. is the 5700 including a deck for the cub? i remember looking at a deere display at one of the county fairs around here and thinking that the cub seemed much better built for the money. dont get me wrong, the deeres were very nice, but i just thought for the amount of money, you got more with the cub. at that high of a price though, id be seriously looking into the yanmar cubs and the bx kubotas. id love to have a 4x4 diesel.

Don't know much about the JD's, but have owned several Cub's, including the 3200. Just got one for my dad with the front plow, very nice machine, very well built. I had one and loved it, before I stepped up to a Cub compact.
