I appreciate the info here at Tractorbynet.
Time to contribute.
The Landpride box blade has served me well over the years. It was time to give it some rehab and paint. I decided it was a good time to add a set of detachable guage wheels. Something I could easily adjust, and take off and stow away.
2 fixed Casters w/ 8" x 2" cast wheels (no rubber)
8' Scrap metal (by the pound)
4 Plastic end caps
4 Clips
2 Zerk fittings (for greasing pipe in pipe swivel)
Primer/Paint (I need to find some JD green for powdercoat)
I enjoyed the project and am happy with the results.
I have used the setup enough to appreciate the function, but believe most of the work can be done by using the box blade controls rather than the training wheels, oops I mean guage wheels. Seriously they do work fine.
PS, I dusted a thin coat of loose dirt in the rear view photo to show how nice and flat the results were. Now I just have to dig a few pockets and then shoot some pool.
Happy trails,
Dave
