Guage wiring

Can someone either talk me through the wiring for the fuel gauge or post the schematic of it's wiring? My fuel gauge quit awhile back. Not completely, very intermittently it will decide to work but only for a few seconds. The Temp works fine. I'm almost sure the fuel gauge/sender is losing power somewhere since when it goes out it looks just like the key has been switched off. No other functions or accessories have been affected. I've let the warranty expire so dealer is last resort. BTW, I too have a very loud rattle in my front driveshaft.

It does sound like a loose connection.
Have you checked all the connections on the back of the gauge, at the sending unit and whatever you can check inbetween?
