Best thing I ever found was using peanut butter. Of the four dogs I've used the "cover it in peanut butter & stick it on the end of my finger & let them lick it off" method, nobody except me ever got tired of peanut butter. In their old age I actually kept track & found I was spending more on dog medication than I was on people medication. I don't remember how many pills a day any of them got but I did quickly figure out that if somebody was supposed to get 5 pills 3 times a day, everybody got 5 pills 3 times a day. Even if some of the pills were Iams crunchies covered in peanut butter.
