H1502 with a homemade grapple

I added a grapple to my Bolens H1502. I made the grapple from scrape metal I had laying around. It weighs 219 pounds and cost $130. I spent $78 on the quick attach plate and $40 on the cylinder. It was really a fun winter project.

Any clue how much weight it can take before the tractor will tilt?

I’m not sure about the tipping weight. But it has loaded tires, 600 pound backhoe and 264 pounds of weights in the back. I make it a practice not to over stress my equipment.

That's a pretty impressive machine you have there

You are not afraid of getting too much weight/pressure on the front wheels/axes? Is it 2wd or 4wd?

I am asking because i had a FEL installed about one year ago on my TX1500 (2wd), and these guys were really hesitant to do this, because they insisted that the construction of the front wheels was not designed to take such a heavy weight. I was advised not to put more than 150kg of load on the FEL because of this. That's the main reason i moved the FEL construction onto my TX1300F (4wd) two months later.

Thanks for the compliment. I have a friend that has a loader on his Bolens G152 2wd tractor. The axle is stronger than you think. I try to limit my lifts to 500 pounds but he lifts more with his machine. He pushes his machine hard and has not had a problem in 10 years of use. Besides, the fun doesn’t begin until something breaks.

I built the grapple to handle fallen trees and brush piles around my property. I cut the trees down size before lifting.

Good looking grapple! Great thing about these little rigs is pump not able to overload lift capacity! I've got a FEL off of a Mitsubishi MT 2000D on mine. Price was right. Welder and steel to fab mount and sub frame.
