I've been cleaning up my workshop.

I started putting all the hammers in one place. Including claw hammers, ball pean hammers, tack hammers, a rubber mallet, four leather mallets, a shoe makers hammer, and a masons hammer, I have 24 hammers. That sounds like a lot, but I can't find my other two masons hammers and at least two of my framing hammers. They are probably in the garage or the shed. I'm guessing I have about 30 hammers in all. I think I actually need about 8 for various purposes.

Oh, I didn't count the fence pliers, although I use it as a hammer a lot. Greatest tool ever, by the way.

Yet, I think I only bought about 6 of the hammers. Seems old guys I know like to sell off all their good tools at a garage sales for next to nothing, then say, "hey, you want what's left?" Then they proceed to tell me all about the cool stuff someone else bought, and they hand me a sack of hammers. I have never figured out why they don't tell me about the garage sales BEFORE the sale.

Don't get me wrong, I like hammers. Especially old, interesting ones.

Anyway, How many hammers do you have?

You can never have too many hammers. I have no idea how many hammers I have. I try to always have a claw hammer handy. I keep one in each truck, atv, tractor, big tool box, above work bench, and probably a couple of other placed I can't remember.

At the top of my head: 3 claw hammers - 2 rubber mallets - 4 ball ping hammers - 2 sledge hammers - 2 brass hammers. That's all that I can think of presently.

Lots but no count. Your hammer can't be too big as long as you can swing it.

I lost count, but have been moving to air in the last few years. Seems it is a lot better on my arms to just hold up a gun and pull the trigger. But the other ones have places in the shop. Taking things apart, hire a local kid, and he can swing the hammers for me.
