I recently purchased a hand pump (Han-D- Pump) for my 5 gal. diesel can. I paid about $20.00 bucks for it. It pumps on the up stroke, no mess and works great. More handy than a shirt pocket!!!!!!/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I have been using one of these for about a year and it works great. The hose is long enough so I can set the 5-gallon tank on a stand alongside the table and pump away. The only problems I've encountered so far is that (1) the threads on the cap are not the same as those on my plastic WalMart fuel containers, and (2) the rubber hose is weathering and will have to be replaced. I've seen these pumps advertised in Harbor Freight for as low as $10.00

I have never had any luck using a shirt pocket to pump fuel so I guess it would be handy /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I purchased one of these last night from TSC. Paid $12.35 for it. Are you still using yours and do you still like it? I've only had my tractor about 2 weeks and that was enough of spilling the diesel on the hood. Had to figure something out w/o spending big $$$. Still might rig up a 20 gallon barrel though.

I use one, also. It works great. Glenn, be sure to use fuel grade hose when you replace the old. Other grades will degrade in time, leaving pieces off goo in your fuel.

Thanks, fivestring. That's good advice. Guess I'll go to NAPA for a replacement hose.

Thanks for the info on this Pump,

I've been thinking of ordering one from Harbor Freight, but since TSC has them for $12. I'll be making a trip there tomorrow. Also I'm glad they work so well. Thanks again for all the input.

I tried one and gave up on it. I am back to standing on the tractor deck and pouring fuel into the tank from a 5 gallon bucket. Seemed like a lot of trouble to get it out, hook it up, then clean and store it after fueling. I worried a lot about picking up dirt on it that ended up in the fuel tank, so I just dump it from a fuel can. Guess I need to turn in all my shirt pockets? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
