There's an outfit that sells a 3 point 'handi-hitch' that has 2 trailer balls plus a clevis in the middle. Not cheap but not too bad. My question is they have 2 models, one for a Cat 1 3-point (26" wide) and one for a Cat 1N meaning narrow (20" wide) which they say is for BX series. If I want one for a BX24 which should I go with? Dealer says it's a Cat 1 period. If you want to look it's at redlandhill.com. Anyone have any experience?

If you can weld, you can make one. One trailer dealer near me uses an old JD to move trailers around. One of the arms between a lift arm and the top mount is obviously an old mower blade. They have been using it a long time. You probably could not tow a gooseneck trailer so you wouldn't need the ball at the top of the hitch.

Having owned a BX23 I think the narrower version would be slighlty easier to hook up. You would not have to spread the lower links as far apart to get this attachment on. Even though the BX is category one hitch some regular 3 point implements are a tight fit and turning the pins inward helps.

I think the subcut designed implements are a better fit for the BX and I would go with the narrow version of the hitch you describe.

I went for the standard version for my BX24 from their eBay store. It is slightly narrower than my box blade, so there's no problems mounting it. The narrow version won't work with the Harbor Freight quick hitch, so it wasn't an option for me. The standard version was on sale as a combo with their short boom pole. the narrow version wasn't when I ordered, which seems to be a common situation. It does appear to be well made. Definitely much nicer than I could fabricate myself. I use it frequently to move my log splitter around the property. I got the short boom pole for it with the intent of using that in skidding logs out of my woods, though I'm sure some would say I'm nuts to lift them from a point above the axle.
