Hi guys,
first post on this forum.
I'm considering one of the new 45 horse Yanmars. One thing I need to do with it is handle big square bales averaging 1200 lbs. I would use a loader mounted spear and probably have something on the 3 point for ballast.
Looking at the specs it should handle them fairly well, I'm just wondering if anybody here has real world experience doing it? Any thoughts?

Thanks for any insight.

Welcome to TBN and the New Yanmar Forum!

I don't think you would have any problem. The best example I can give you is I've picked up 1800lb pallets of compressed sawdust bricks with mine. I also move firewood fork lift bags around a lot, each fork lift bag holds 1/3 cord (1300lbs?)

In any event, Yanmar will buy your LX back in 30 days/15 hours if it doesn't meet your expectations.

1200lbs shouldn't be an issue. We have an lx4100 which is the same except for the engine. We've forked approx. 2000lbs (25) of 80lb retaining wall block. That was at the upper limit of comfort but 1200 should be a walk in the park for this loader.
