Just realized I've had ol' green for 6 years to this month! And just today finished the 500 hours service including the valve lash adjustment. (wasn't so bad except for the part about finding top dead center!) After a near record snowfall winter everything's in great shape and ready to mow... IN APRIL ???? Well at least for this area it's weird mowing in April, had no snow in March for the first time in recorded HISTORY! Tulips are blooming, corn is being planted... It's BIZARr^# ! <:O) Everybody sing now; "Happy birthday 2210, happy birthday 2210...etc."

Your note reminded me that mine passed seven years in February and is working on year eight. Hard to believe it's been that long!

Except for top center what other items needed to do the valve job and how long did it take to complete this task.
Just wondering I have close to 400 hrs and before winter I will need to do mine or early spring , next summer..
Same here for nice spring , still cold in the mornings the last couple of week but before that we had temp near 80 unheard of for this time of year. We've had temps in the morning of 24-28 deg and very luck the apple trees so far are loaded with bloom ... Knock on wood ,

Thanks for any info

the 500 hr valve lash adjustment requires a tech manual or at least that page from one which I was able to bum off someone on this forum. You need a set of feeler guages, a screwdriver, couple metric wrenches. The hardest part was removing the flywheel cover to see the marks on the flywheel. Then remove the air cleaner assembly and the valve cover just has two bolts on the top. For headroom and visibility I tied the hood wide open to the ROPS. Just find tdc and follow the directions. It took in all about an hour.

Megotatractor,

My 2210 turns 6 next May 18th and it is also time for me to to adjust the valves. 485 hrs here, so it looks like it is in line with yours for the amount of use!

Wow that was a quick 6 years too! But for a couple of things, she has never let me down.

Gotta pull out my tech manual and see what I gotta do for the 500 hr service.

Mego, I am curious to know how far the adjustment was out at 500hrs?
