I threw a cheapie HF water trap on it today and took it for a test run. Even though the trap included an air tool oiler, I obviously did not have any oil in it.
First cut was a piece of 3/32 inch flat plate. Obviously, I can't draw a straight line for nothing. Anyway, it cut it as fast as I could drag the torch across.
Next, I tried cutting up some scrap iron. Tried cutting through some old rusty, painted welds holding pipe and angle iron together. I used the gouging tip for this because it seemed like the right way to do it, but I'm not sure. It worked but was slow.
Last, I tried blowing out some welds from an old treadmill frame so I could disassemble it. Seemed to work well once it burned through the paint.
Didn't cut anything thicker than a quarter inch or so, but seemed to work as avertised. I imagine I'll get better with experience.
I will be very curious to see how long the consumables last.
My first spring project this year will be freshening up an old utility trailer which will give me a chance to use the plasma cutter for real.
