Every year I pack up my daughter & her friends and load them in a wagon and pull it around with a tractor from house to house. It is too far for them to walk. We live in a neighborhood with about 25 homes on 155 acres so each home is set on several acres and many are set back off the road, usually about 18 to 20 houses are lit up, and the rest look like AndyM's house with all the lights off!!! It takes about 90 minutes to run the kids around the neighborhood.
The lovely Mrs_Bob stays home to handle the kids who come to our door. This year we had 3 trick or treaters. They were the triplets from down the road. Because it is an effort for the kids to get here, and because our neighborhood is miles outside of town, we always give kids full bags of candy and treats. I think it costs us about $1.50 a bag (did I mention that I wholesale candy so I get it cheap!!!), so this year we made up about 10 bags, each had stickers, candy, a halloween pencil and some other stuff. All the left overs will be given to the school, they use the treats as incentives for the kids who do good deeds, etc.
I think the most kids we ever got was 8. We've had at least 2 years when we got ZERO kids.
