Yep, it sounds like crusty 1 and jimmyj are getting old. I know because I'm in the same boat. You see, New Year's Eve is also my wife's birthday. From 1977 through 1988, 11 years, we hosted a combination New Year's Eve/Birthday party at our house. Plenty to eat and drink. I used to make a pretty good champagne punch (Champagne, pineapple sherbet, orange juice, etc.). We always had a big crowd; neighbors, friends, and family. And the party usually broke up around 1:30 a.m.

And now . . . . Some of the family are coming for lunch and my wife's birthday tomorrow, and tomorrow night, just like you guys, I'll probably be in bed by 9:30 p.m. and certainly no later than 10 p.m.

Still trying to figure out when New Years arrives. Back in the Philippines now, crossed the internation date line to get here, I'm in your tomorrow and you are living in my yesterday. Used to be really confusing when on Navy ships crossing every other day.
