Hard Seltzers

[Diggin It]

I guess the next big thing with the crowd that sucks flavored non-smoke into their lungs and sticks bicycle rims in their ear lobes is hard seltzer that seems to be somewhere between beer and club soda. I guess adding juice and booze to club soda is too complicated.

I'll admit, I like hard cider and sometimes hard lemonade on a hot day, but I can't see making a practice of it.

I honestly believe the future is doomed.

Actually it’s the old folks who are the problem. A burden on the health care system, social security etc. Some of the countries that don’t do CPR after a specific age are on to something.

Wow, do they check your ID before deciding that you're too old? I'm starting to understand why some want to change their legal age because they "identify as 20 years younger."

To the OP, sentiments similar to yours have been expressed for generations; most likely the first time it was said was when Adam was talking to Eve. Yet we only hear about the new makers... thete are still a lot of young people out there simply trying to make a life and a living. There's a line from a 1986 Phil Collins song which makes me laugh every time I hear it... "Our generation will put it right" .

Up until about a year ago, I went to a hair stylist..."barber"...who is an English citizen, but married to an American business exec. We had a lot of good discussions, but the one that I remember was concerning the English health care system. She told me that once you reached age 75, you were practically written off as far as your treatment options were concerned. I suppose you get more bang for the buck if a heart transplant or a knee replacement is for a 50 year old.

You were told an untruth. I know of many people older than 75 in the UK who have had exactly the same treatment as those much younger, and of course it is all free of charge because of the system of all working people paying a very small percentage of their earnings by way of what is known as National Insurance. I am in Portugal, and aged 75, and my own heart valve replacement and triple bypass last month was also done free of charge because of a similar system here.
