I have a few grease fittings on various pieces of equipment that are very hard to impossible to get my grease gun on. I did find a right angle end at TSC (OEM brand) but the darn thing almost needs to be pounded on. Is there anything else on the market that in the line of right angle ends that would work better? I did manage to get some of the harder fittings turned slightly so theyre now easy to reach but there are still a few I cant even get a wrench on. Any suggestions on getting to these fittings would be appreciated.

Lincoln used to make a bunch of adaptors for various applications. I normally change the fittings if possible so I do not need adaptors. But I too have a few that need the dreaded adaptor kit:confused:

There's a couple of things you can do. Adaptors, remote mount fittings or automatic lubricators. Remote adaptors are nothing more than relocating the grease fitting to a easy to get to location. Most of the major lubrication equipment manufacturers make these. Automatic lubrication is another option. You can either have a centralized lubrication system that lubricates all the fittings on a piece of equipment or individual fitting lubricators. These are usually small spring loaded grease cups. The other least expensive way is adaptors for your gun. Like most things in life there are good and bad ones and it sounds like you got one of the bad/difficult to use ones. Here is a couple of my adaptors. I usually find Lincoln makes the best and easiest to find adaptors.

Thanx for the help. First, its not possible for a remote fit up b/c this is on a spinning U-joint. In fact I cant even get a wrench on the fitting to move it! Very frustrating.

DP I have a chuck thats exactly like the one in your pic lower left. However I would literally have to pound it on to get it to slip over the fitting. BTW VERY neat idea about putting a fitting on the end of the chuck!!! Gotta remember that one. :) Thanx!!

I guess Ill try messing w/ it tomorrow and hit some auto parts places to see what they might have in the way of other chucks.

Lincoln makes a thin u-joint greaser that you hold against the zerk as it has no chuck. I have to grease some that way or take the shaft apart so the joint can be knuckled over to allow for a thin chuck.

Is it like one of those pictured above?

What about putting a 45' zerk in the hard spots.

Those tools/adapters that DP posted work great.. I use the 2 lower ones to lube my batwing all the time.

The picture of DPs fittings really helped and I have a couple ends on order. The zerk in question is almost impossible to get a wrench on. Its really tight and the space is very confined. I think when the thing was put together access wasnt an issue and someone was feeling really strong that day too. :)

Got the ends from Lincoln yesterday and finished lubing the tedder! The right angle end sure worked well and was easy to get over the zerk. I also converted all my ends to 'quick connect'. Thanx a million for the help...and pics.
