Here are 2 pics I took last year when my dealer lent me a RTV900 with hydraulic bed lift. This little beauty is an awesome work horse. I moved 30 tons of 0-3/4 stone with it in no time. The hydraulic lift of the cargo box is incredibly strong.

I don't know what may be the load weight heaped like that but what I know is the dumping was very easy. And if you need even more power, you can gear it on neutral and raise the throttle to give you more hydraulic flow to the bed lift cylinder.

I loaded the cargo box with my BX23 (at that time). I don't remember exactly how many buckets was needed to fill it up... 3 or 4. I remember that with the bucket completely full of 0-3/4 stone (heaped), the BX23 was working very hard to lift the load high enough to load the RTV.

I looked at John Deere, Cub Cadet and Kubota. IMO (based on a real experience) the RTV900 is the strongest utility vehicle on the market (for the price). I'm talking here about a fully loaded vehicle (with hydraulic bed lift). If you have to choose, don't go with electric bed lift (as with the other brands), hydraulic is a must for a setup like that.

Nice souvenir /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Enjoy

Thanks Stef!
Good pics.
Boy do I need on of those. It woud be perfect for getting stone on my ATV trails. My truck is just to big for the job ...and it does not have a hydrolic dump bed. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Hey Stef

Ahhh, you didn't buy the RTV? Must be a great dealer to allow you to do this kind of project on a demo unit. Why is there a license plate on the rear window cage?

That's quite a load. I haven't hauled stone but I've put probably 1200# of wood in the back with no problem.

The cargo box is 16 cu.ft. Looking at that load, I'd guess you have about 22 cu/ft. If I recall correctly, that kind of stone is over 100# per sq/ft meaning you put over 2200# on the back of that thing. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I'm impressed. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

At that time I was buying a new land and was convinced of the good use of a RTV. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif But the seller turned his back on me and gave the terrain to his children. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif So... no terrain no RTV. Next time.

About my dealer: I agree, he's great. I'm sure he would lend it to me again if I'd ask. Last week I told him that I'd like to try a ZD28F mower. He invited me home to cut a part of his grass to try it because he owns one. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The license plate... yeah... up here in Quebec we need a license plate if we want to drive that kind of vehicle on public roads (for short distrances).

I forgot to say that the tires on the RTV900 I tried was the same turf tires as a BX23.

About the loading capacity. I've been very impressed. It's so strong. As you can see on the pics, the cargo box was pretty full and the dumping was smooth and easy (no need to speed up the throttle). /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Moon, I did exactly that kind of job with it. The width of the cargo box is great because when you dump, it gives you a perfect width for an ATV trail. The hydraulic bed lift is very productive and strong.

And you can go easily between trees.
