I used to own one in the 90's and really liked how it worked. You could take an inexperienced operator and really clean up his work and it made planting much easier. Last year when we build our house I rented a tractor mounted one and it worked great. Only problem is that we have rocky soil and it caused us to have to rake up a ton of stones, enough here in Northeastern Pa. that I was able to run a second driveway from the road to the back of my yard. Saved on the cost of modified.
A Harley rake is great at clearing areas with grass and weeds since it windrows it to the side. If not needed I would prefer a rockhound. You can actually make the planting look just as good if it's you who's running the machine. You learn how to adjust when running it only thing is some people only like going forward.
With either you'll be happly but I think a 48" unit is a little small since your running it at an angle, makes it hard to cover your tracks, but that's only my opinion.
