Are the old style Harley rakes worth owning? I have a chance to buy one fairly cheap and was wondering if I should get it. I need something like this to knock down a lot of hills and humps in my neighbors fields to make it easier to mow. I think this would work much easier than my box blade. Your opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.

You should buy it so I can borrow it for a case of frosty beverages...

Is $800.00 cheap enough for a 6 footer?

They get $175 to rent one for a day at MB tractor in Plaistow.

New they are ~$5-$6K. If it runs - buy it before someone else does...

If I hadn't just bought a tiller - I'd be all over that. I've found that my landscape rake (york rake) just helps uncover the rocks vs widrowing them to the side. Still lots of manual picking to do after prepping an area.

I paid $300 for this one, easily flattens dirt humps, windrows rocks & chews up anything on the ground.

The PTO busted with my 55 PTO tractor, they do take significant power, not quite as much as pulling a 4x18 plow in virgin sod.

New tube welded on cost $25 at the blacksmiths yesterday.

They rent for $250 a day here. If it works I would buy it in a second.

Remember that I said this was the older style Harley rake. It is not the newer drum style with the carbide fingers.

Here she is. It now resides at my house. Man is that thing heavy. The Kubota L2550 barely could lift it full height to get it in my pickup. It cost me $800.00. She wouldn't budge on the price. I also picked up this 5 foot JD 3PT finish mower and a JG 4 foot 3PT Rototiller for $400.00 for the pair.
