I farm on my own but the machine is rented. I work with another farmer using his combine in the fall and I do his spraying in the summer. At the end of the season we figure out who owes who and settle up. I usually end up owing him but no more then I farm I just can'[t justify owning a combine anymore or I get my mind to go along with it. This has worked well for the last 3 years now and as long as it does we will stick with it. The only problem I am seeing down the road is the 1480 is getting alot of hours on it and it is starting to nickel and dime him some. I don't see him buying another machine so maybe we can go together and rent one.

Nice pictures. I usually try to take a few days off work and spend a long weekend "playing farm". My brother in law works for a farmer and i try to help out for a few days, usually get the auger wagon. They farm around the Fisher & Gibson City area. Didn't get to make it this year as i've been stuck in Alabama all this month for work and they are just about finished up with harvest this year.

Well hopefully things will keep working out. I am looking to sell my JD 3300 and upgrade to an International 1460 with RWA. The 3300 is too small and on my ground the 2wd is a real issue. I have lots of ground but I don't plant it all because of the fact I can't harvest it all with the 3300. I may go with another Deere but the 1460's had a great reputation.

I was up near the Gibson City area today and harvest is near complete. They were some what behind our area. We have been done a couple of weeks but we were drier and our crops were not nearly as good.

The old girl is just short of 4500 hours. It seems to just be little things starting to go wrong. Maybe some time in the shop this winter will cure alot of those things.
