10 lb./ft. v/s 14 lb./ft on a 25' length is only 100 lbs. more.
If you should choose the 19 lb. version, your trailer weight would only be 225 lbs.
225 lb. weight difference, for a trailer that size, is insignificant in my opinion!

but it's times 2x so that would be 450lbs. Although I do see what you mean

In the low 70's I worked for a Semi Trailer Repair Company.
They had a SERIOUS frame rack bay with tie downs and side push structures.
Often we got in 40' flatbeds that were bowed down, some almost touching the ground!
We would chain them down front and rear, place huge air jacks under the bend, hide behind large "I" beams and turn on air valves until we stalled the jacks bowing them as much up as they were bent down.
Let them sit like that overnight them walk each beam pounding it with a 16 lb sledge hammer to "shock"it.
My guess was equipment got dropped on them and the web was probably 18".
Just remember "The anvil and bucket of water or rubber hammer" reference.
Pic my 4000 lb Lift that weighs 8800 lbs.
I had it moved to my new property a year ago with a Roll-back. ($150. cost, 50 miles)

Re: Has anyone actually bent 8"+ I beam frame on trailer?

At work people always come with their little single axle 3500# rated trailers and or tandem 7000# rated trailers with the mesh tailgate and are like "You can drive up"... Lol simply look at them and say "this weighs 13,000lbs, plus this pallet is 3700lbs. So no" Plus we have a policy that we do not drive onto any trailers.

I’m sure that would go over good. It’s almost hard to believe anyone is that stupid.

When you deal with the general public every day, it’s hard to overstate the stupidity of a large fraction of humanity.

Recently a guy commented about the bow in my trailer. I just told him the manufacturer does that so water runs off the deck. His comment, "Oooh, thats a good idea."

That thar's funny, don't care who U R..

If there is any single sentence to describe how to deal with and what to expect from the general public on most anything related to equipment and it's use, this is it.

Amen brother!!!! I work for a rental company in a specialty division. All my equipment is trailer mounted. I check customers receiver hitches for weight capacity every time. Many times, I've sent customers down to the store to get the proper reciever or ball before I would allow them to latch onto the equipment.

There's been other times where I've had customers show up with too small of a vehicle for what they wanted to haul. When that happens, I have to explain to them why it isn't safe, and they either have to come back with a bigger vehicle or arrange transport/ delivery.
