I'm trying to decide on lighting option for the 500 and wanted to see if anyone had already been down this road? Any suggestions or ideas welcome. Not enough light when driving at night.

I'm thinking of mounting on inside of roll bar, but grill guard could be an option. Pics would be great!

I put 2 TSC round 35w lights on the front and 1 55w light on the rear. Made brackets that use the existing u-bolt nuts. Ran the wire around the ROPS in automotive plastic sheathing with zip-ties. Put a switch panel in the center below the dash. My lights were blocked by the snow plow. This set up has worked out pretty well and was cheap!

I agree with TIMSWI. I went to Wal Mart and for $15 bought lights that I mounted on the existing ubolts that the factory top attaches to the ROPS. They light up the whole hunting camp. My buddies hate them there so brite. I did buy the Kubota rear lights and they are very nice but at $140 its a rip. Go to my rattle thread and you can see pictures i posted there. Hey TIMSWI I did the servo adjusment but not clear how to up rpm. I knw where the throttle idle and stop screws are located but not sure what to do with them. Do you have to get more RPM by adjusting the throttle cable or can it be done with just the throttle stop screw. Thanks Fred

Here is what I came up with for a cargo light, mirror and SMV emblem.
Replace with longer bolts in the ROPS to hold the brackets on.

Fred,

The RPM adjstment is a combination of loosening the trottle cable (2 12mm nuts), then adjusting the governer stop (phillips, with an 8mm jambnut) outward
until the desired RPM's are reached...Trial and error.

Then adjust the throttle cable at the 2 12mm site to allow the governer to hit the stop. Tighten up everything. Then check the servo arm and make sure it's just below the marks so that it isn't being used as a stop. Then adjust the stop on the gas pedal so that it is the primary stop, not the servo. If you push the pedal down by hand you can feel this.

This is how I did mine...Maybe not the most efficient, but it worked.

RPM's on mine were 3650, now 4050.

Let me know if this works, or even makes sense:D Tim

Tim thanks you so much for that quick reply. I adjusted the servo out 1 turn and it made a big difference. I can actually go up my driveway and 5x10 trailer ramp without bogging down. I can't wait to get the rpm's up to see how that effects performance. Im glad you pushed the point. I can't beleive Kubota would not set it correctly from the factory. It is really a easy quick adjustment and makes a big difference. I still have a rattle that Im not happy with. Anyhow have a Happy Holiday Season. Take care

If my "directions" don't make sense, send me a PM and we can get into the nuts and bolts of this.

Don't know what you have for a tach, but a Sears Craftsman Professional timing light has an integrated tach that reads from the plug wire so you don't need an ignition lead. Runs around 100 bucks.

Enjoy the holidays Fred...Tim
