I have been considering buying a new tractor, and was wondering if anyone out there has bought any of massey ferguson's implements. I was curious about their tiller mainly. RL700 I believe the number is. I have looked at King Kutter, Howse, Tarter, Phoenix, County Line, Taylor Way, Howard, Frontier, Land Pride, Bush Hog, Kuhn, etc.. Kuhn appears to be of the best quality, King Kutter appears to be pretty strong, but looking at some of their used stuff appears quite rusty after several years. Kuhn's doesn't, and appears to be built of better quality steel materials. Kuhn is made in France, but is still a quality product. Stihl is German, but people buy Stihl chainsaws. I haven't found any plows out there yet I am all that pleased with. The King Kutter, and Howse appear to be the same plow, with different paint jobs. ETA is making a plow that appears to be of pretty good quality. Kuhn on the other hand, makes a 2 bottom roll over plow, that looks expensive, but I don't know their prices. Kunn makes a tiller for about $2,800.00 to fit the size of tractor I am looking at ( pto 32hp ). If anyone has any experience with Massey Ferguson implements I would appreciate the imput. Tractorhouse has some old Massey Ferguson old 3 bottom plows, that the moulboards appear to be in pretty good shape, the rest of the plow could use some new paint. The only high quality plows I know of right now are built by Kuhn. Mainly all the other one's seem to be made of cheaper quality. The rust factor appears to determine this.

The older Massey Ferguson and Harry Ferguson plows have great steel in them. Made when US steel was supreme. I have a 15 yr old Massey Rotary Mower that is still going strong. Great Massey rakes, tillers, cultivators, but all are older ones. Never had any of the newer Massey implements.....my old ones wont wear out.

I think you pretty much 'get what you pay for' these days. Although I own two Agric rotovators that were only about $2000 and they have been superb.

Kuhn has a 2 bottom roll over plow, it is called the Master 102. I don't know the weight of the plow, and it's size in comparison to the Massey Ferguson 2605 tractor I am looking at. They appear to be pretty big plows, but good quality. I don't know the price of the plows, the tillers a about $2,800.00 for my size of tractor. The other brands of plows I have found are, King Kutter, Howse, ETA, Tarter, Leinbach, and the older plows from like the 40's-60's. Those plows appear to be made real good, but I don't know of anyone making them like that today, except for maybe Kuhn, and they are made in France, though you can buy them in North America. Thanks for the imput, I am looking for mainly all new stuff. I may decide to build my own plow. At least I will know about the quality of the steel used in making it. I will keep looking though.

During the years after Massey Harris and Ferguson merged, Massey built some of the best light draft 3-point mounted implements you're gonna find. Their CAT I plows (#62, #66, #43) are well designed, durable, and easy pulling. Massey built what most consider the best 3-point disc ever. (Model #25) Their CAT II mounted plows have a solid reputation also.

It seems that the moulboards, and plowshears on brands like Howse, King Kutter, Tarter, all seem to rust considerably. Do you know of any aftermarket moulboards, and plowshears made from better quality steels ? I thought about building my own plow, and putting on some Kuhn moulboards, and plowshears. I also thought about having the plow frame painted with those Rhino lining coatings, linex, etc.. I don't know if those would be good to use or not, for rust, and corrosion protection. If I decide to use an older Massey Ferguson plow, like what you suggested, then Will restore it back to it's original state, except I might replace the moulboards, and plowshears, with maybe Kuhn models. I plan on really using the plow, so I need one I can really work. I don't need something rusting up in a few years, that I will have to keep restoring to keep it in working shape, you know what I mean. Thanks for the recommendation.
