I am curious if anyone has had to replace the tilt seat or switch on their slope mower? My seat bracket is worn where it swivels and it seems to go all over the place when riding on slopes. The one mercury switch is like burnt colored and the other is clear. The hydraulic cylinder probably needs bled according to Terry and the one mercury switch might need replaced. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Yes, see the link on my PT page below. Has part numbers, drawings, etc to convert to a suspension seat.

My seat tilt mechanism is loose, my guess is they all are.

The mercury switch is easy to test with an ohm meter. Other than breaking the glass, they should be pretty fool proof.

In the picture of the slop in the pin it looks like there is enough room in there to add a bushing, maybe it had one to begin with and for some reason busted and fell out. If the mercury switch isn't broken and still makes and breaks contact as it should then maybe you might just need to adjust it to make it more responsive.

My experience with the tilt seat is that the hydraulics are marginally strong enough on steep slopes. I weigh about 200 pounds and on a 25+ degree cross slope the seat will "flop" if I don't help a bit by shifting my weight.

I have not noticed that on mine (the flopping because of the angle). Maybe the cylinder needs to be rebuilt.

I don't have flopping issue (well, I do but lets not discuss that here). I am a svelt 240 and my seat stays firm. That said, the reaction time from the merc switches to the tilt seat are abominable, especially as I zip around a lot.

Also, turning the seat off was a disaster. It would not lock off in place, just flop over.

If I was smart, I would figure out how the level thingy works on my cell phone, find that kind of hardware and replace the mercury switches.

One of these days I am going to do Kens upgrade to the seat. My kidneys can't take much more of this.

My seat has behaved as I described since new. I contacted Terry early on and we went through diagnostics, including bleeding the cylinder. He is the one who told me there was limited hydraulic power.
