Has anyone put an extension pipe on a HF Lynxx pole saw?

I'm seriously considering getting a Lynxx 40v pole saw. A quick look at the manual it seems like it may be possible to add a 4' extension using a suitable pipe and 4' or so of extra wire, some clamps and of course duct tape.

Has any other TBN'er done it?
