Has anyone used gear oil in front axle (instead of the hydraulic oil that the manufacturer recommends) AND had an issue?

I asked my Kubota dealer what came in the tractor when they delivered. I was told gear oil. It is also much cheaper than udt2.

And once you realize you can use gear oil, it allows a great variety of choices. Super UDT2 is almost exclusively a Kubota dealer item, so you pay their prices and buy during their hours.

You can get gear oil anywhere, anytime and cheaper.

My Mahindra manual says use gear oil. Much cheaper too!
