Installed a radio in their B3030HSDC? If anyone has done it, I would be interested in what radio you installed, and some pointers on doing it. I know MartinT was going to do it a while back, but I never heard if he completed it or not. Thanks!

I installed one on my 3130 a few years ago and it works great. nothing fancy, just an old car radio I had laying around. I used some speakers from a home stereo that were about 8" X 4" and attached the whole stereo to my top canopy. I'll take some pics in the next couple days if your interested.

Our tractor doesn't have a cab, so I don't know what the noise level is like in there, but I like to use hearing protection when operating. My "Worktunes" radio/earmuffs works great, and doesn't subject anyone else to my listening choices.

yea a lot of people use those earmuff radio, I personally like to hear other sounds while im on the tractor in case I hear something crunching or engine noise. Also hear in FL, it's usually too hot to have on earmuffs. Sorry I havent posted any pics yet, it's been bad weather. Ill get some this week.

That's exactly what I use and the cost wasn't bad, I believe $64 and I can use them mowing the lawn, shoveling snow and even weeding the garden. I used them even when painting the house, splitting wood and yep, stacking it also. You get a long time listening on 2 AA batteries and yep it's in stereo also.:)

I had thought about it initially, but then decided against it. The tractor is fairly noisy, thus the radio would have to be turned up fairly loud. I am trying to preserve what little hearing I have left. As it is, I wear ear plugs and my shooting ear muffs to deaden sound

Many of the earmuffs with radios in them limit the decibels to protect your hearing I thin to around 85dB. So you they should protect your hearing and allow you to listen to music or radio comfortably...

I wasn't aware that with the B3030 Cab version that that you still needed hearing protection. I had heard that even with a Cab that the 3030 was noisy... but needing to wear double hearing protection is good to know.

I have lost a lot of my hearing, so I don't take any chances, probably overkill.

I don't have a cab B3030 but I do listen to tunes when tractoring. Personally I find earmuff radios uncomfortable and they attenuate sounds I'd rather hear. I like to hear the machinery working and the engine and MMM on my BX23 are not loud enough to warrant ear protection (IMHO).
I installed a ROPS mounted AM/FM/CD and find it a quite enjoyable addition to my seat time. I can hear the machinery plus my favorite sportstalk and music whilst enjoying my seat time, kinda the best of both worlds :D
