Well, we picked up my L3400 and 60" woods finish mower on Thursday. I also picked up my dad's B series tractor and mower. With my woods mower in my bed of my truck, the two tractor just fit on my 18' trailer.

I have 1 hour on the new tractor and I LOVE it... We have a few dry days ahead, so I'm going to do some second cutting of hay and we'll see how well this tractor pulls the rake.

She's a real beauty. Take advantage of all the seat time you can. You'll love it! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

A pair that beats three-of-a-kind. Great tractors!

Enjoy!

Hey Tremel,

Be sure to let us know how it does raking hay. I'm interested in knowing how the bigger CUT's do with "real" agricultural work.

Didn't you post on travelling a little to buy the tractors from someone further away, but easier to deal with than the closer dealer?
You should stop by his place, tractors in tow of course, and ask him if you can buy a hat because the other dealer was out. Two, one for you and one for your dad.

This photo of both tractors back to back is nifty. Adds a sense of proportion you don't get looking at the different types/sizes when they are next to each other.

Nice tractor - I think the L3400 is one of the Kubota models that gets skipped over too much - a very straightforward and capable machine.

Well, we put 6 hours on it this weekend. Most of the work was mowing one of my unused pastures. The tractor mowed through HEAVY brush with a 5' brush mower like nothing. I did most of my mowing in 1st and 2nd high gear. I was VERY impressed. It climed some very steep hills without any slipping. Hard to believe since I didn't weight the tractor down yet.

Used a 3 pt boom to move some VERY heavy items and the tractor again impressed me.

Also, the wife LOVES it. She mowed 3 acres of grass with the new 60" Woods finish mower in under an hour.

The tractor was easy on fuel too. Can't complain about that.

I was originally shooting for the 2800, but now I'm glad. That extra HP and the double stage clutch made all the difference in the world.

We'll be putting 2nd cutting of hay down in a couple of weeks. I'll gladly report on how it handles the rake.

I'm not sure how my folks are doing with there new machine. I've been home all weekend playing with mine. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
