Hauling a TLB on a car trailer

Very good advice on buying your own trailer to either keep or sell at the end of the trip. Trailer rental cross country will be at least $400 (or much more) so that money can be put to good use toward a purchase. I bought my 20 foot 12K rated car hauler trailer with dual 6K axles with brakes on both axles, heavy duty front jack, heavy duty ramps + spare load range E tire for $3050. I have hauled my 8500# tractor on it with ease and it pulls great and safely carries as much or more than I can legally tow with my truck.
I don't think I would start out with a maxed out rental trailer going from coast to coast. You are asking for trouble.
