If for whatever reason you have a dog that eats too fast for it's own good, see attached.

My wife found it, and it has been amazing with one puppy we found on our property.

We've had this issue from time to time with other dogs in our lives, but this is actually a pretty simply solution to slower their eating habits. They have no choice LOL

Funny thing, do a web search for dog bowls for dogs who eat to fast, and you'll find likewise products. Just so happens my wife stumbled across it at a pet store.

Interesting and simple solution. I had a fast eater. Got really tired feeding a small handfull at a time. This would have been a welcome item.

Our dog would simply pour it all out. His problem solved!
LOL

This one 6 month old pup tries to do the same thing. Bottom of bowl has a lot of traction and doesn't move every easy even on a tile floor. It's also low profile where it's hard to get leverage to tip it over with a paw (guess it's about a max of 1-1/2" in height).

It's actually pretty well thought out of per design.

Been there done that with other dogs in our life over the years. It gets even more interesting when you have 5 to 8 to feed and they all aren't in separate pens.

I just laughed tonight watching the one eat out of this bowl.

As you stated, simple solution, and never thought of it.

That’s interesting. I have a food dish which looks like an inverted orange juicer, but have stopped using it. As long as I feed my dog on time he’s ok. If we get in late I will add water to the dish, to slow him down, as well as to soften the food up a bit.

Our issue is taking in strays and not knowing their story and most likely have never had training before.

Lots of things I can try and correct per past behavior issues, but food is a tough one if you have more than one dog and time of feeding is important on your end.

Generally, the one issue we could never figure out is dogs who eat to fast for their own good. We had one puppy who was like that for about 5 years. He actually eats slow now because he finally figured out other dogs aren't going to eat his food is the best I can figure LOL

I understand that, and have a lot of respect for the way that you and your spouse take in strays. One dog at a time is enough for me.

You're lucky you live in Maine, believe me. Generally speaking, it seems people treat their dogs better north than in the south. Please note, I could be wrong on that, but their is defiantly a overpopulation of unwanted dogs in the south IMO that I've never experienced living up north.

We have 2 we found on our property, and one my wife found not more than 1/2 mile on the rural road driving home (he was a puppy back then, we call him "the old man" now due to all his gray hairs). He was the one who ate fast and over time self corrected his eating behavior.

He was also the one we learned about training collars. Neighbor would throw food out behind their house and guess where this dog generally ran to when he was let outside? LOL Generally wouldn't be that bad, but dealing with a barbed wire fence can be a PITA.
