I have a New Holland Lb75.B backhoe with a shuttle shifter.
A simple way of explaining the issue with the tractor is that it will hardly go forward in 1st gear going up a 15 -20 degree incline. But when I go in reverse using the same gear, it has no issue going up the incline.
The engine sounds fine with no issues starting, no smoke. For testing i tried to keep the rpm's constant when I keep it in throttle going forwards and reverse. It just seems very weak.
What could the issue be?

Not enough power going forward or losing traction? Is your backhoe dragging at the base of the hill?

Can you dig into a pile going forward or is this just a hill thing?
I'm thinking a possible trans issue, hope not but it may be as simple as adjusting the "throw" or linkage on the shuttle mechanism. I don't know your tractor mechanically so that's just a wild guess.

It's not getting enough power going up the hill going forward. Backward is no issue.

Digging myself in would only allow it to go reverse, going forward it would get stuck.
When you say a linkage on the shuttle mechanism, what do you mean? Is there any example?

The first place I would check would be the fluid level in the transmission to make sure that it is not low on fluid. after that, I would look at the linkages and make sure that they are all moving freely.

Forward clutches/clutch pack may be slipping?? My 2030 has HI-LO, when the transmission/hydraulic oil gets low the HI clutch pack will slip (it first happens going up hill). I am guessing do to tire direction, it will go up steeper hills forward than it will backwards.

It sounds similar to your issue but the backhoe does not have a hi-lo option. 1, 2, 3, 4, N, R1, R2, R3, R4
The transmission oil is fine. There is no awful noise listening to the vehicle like it's slipping. The RPM's stay the same as if I'm on flat ground using 2nd gear, it just gets slower and slower until its dead stopped on the hill, then slowly goes reverse.
I'll make a video of it when possible.

Do you have 4-WD engaged?

Does it have a Reverser? I am assuming Forward and reverse clutch packs if it does. I am not sure why rpms stay the same, maybe governed? There might be ports to check pressure of forward and reverse (assuming Reverser)

Mine does not make any noise that I can hear above the diesel when it slips, I just notice it slipping. I was talking about mine when I stated tire direction being a factor for backing up hills. I can't back up many hills that I can go up forward.
