Have you got the fertilizer down and the green paint polished?
Or do you have some new paint this year? It is a dry Spring in the South and we are a little nervous. What's up?

My fields have all been limed and potash put on last fall. We don't fertilize until after the first cutting. Most of my fields are about 6" now and very green. We've had good rain and lots of warm weather. For once it's been a beautiful spring. I have my 557 and 567 from last year. I have a new 956 center pivot coming anyday. We'll use it with the 4895 windrower and the 1460 mower conditioner. All our stuff at the end of the year is cleaned up and greased at the end of the previous year so we're ready to go in the spring. What's with the coyboy?

I was chasing the $$$$ to pay the taxman

/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif You just need to buy some more equipment so you have more deductions. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I purchased all the cattle I could last summer when they were cheaper. The taxman cometh. Wonder if I set my date back on my computer is a valid excuse to be late?

I got half of my chicken manure spread before my spreader broke. Now it has stopped raining so I have half the pasture looking green and lush and the rest looking normal. Hopefully the rain will come again soon and I can get the rest down. This is the first year I will be haying the pasture so I’m keeping a close look out for rocks, wood, and junk. I’m having a friend hay it this time to see how it works out before investing in equipment. Its only 20acres but I hate to waste it. If it does good for us this year I’ll do another 10 next year.

My friends equipment is similar to Richards. He has a JD 6410, JD 7610 with FEL and grapple, a JD 12' disk mower conditioner, a couple JD 348's, and a NH balewagon. That sure is a nice cab the have on those tractors.

Eric

Attached is a picture of my daughter and I and Jeff standing in the pasture I hope to hay this year.

No green paint here, but there is some Mahindra red and of course Vermeer yellow. We spread all our fertilizer about 4 wks back and everything is greening up nicely. Gonna have to get out and start shopping for rakes shortly. Can't wait to see how this all new combination is gonna work!
