Hay season upon us, is your fork ready?

My Dad was born in 1924. He would tell about hay production when he was kid. Collecting hay on a wagon, stomping hay in the wagon so they could get more on. lifting it into the loft. Here are some pictures from about that time but not where he was working. That Time of Year « Beekman1802.com He also had tales of digging out the outhouse and spreading muck on the garden.

very nicely done. my compliments. sure does make us think when we complain about machinery & labor. carry on....
interesting to note that around this time we were involved in the Manhattan project (WW2) and the rural electrification of the places in these photos. & that in the big picture, it really wasn't that long ago.... just amazing.
