I have 12 ac. of hay that has been seeded this spring and hope to get one cutting off of it this year if we are lucky. Thinking again if lucky we may get 1000-1200 bales and next year hope to double that number. The property we purchased last year has an old barn on it that needs a ton of work and it is very small. We are storing hay in it right now that we are purchasing for our horses and I think it might hold 300 bales if we put a new roof on it and I have concerns about the ventilation. We are thinking about putting up a three-sided pole barn to store hay can someone give me an idea of how large of a barn I would need to store 2500 - 3000 bales of small square bales. We may decide next year to do part of it in round bales to use, but it would be a small number to use in the winter when we do not let the horses out on the pasture.
