Thanks ! Thats the way my grandfather did it, he used a team of two horses, horse drawn sickle mower, dump rake, and hay wagon to load loose hay on. My Pop would tell me that he would load the wagon up and back the loaded wagon into the barn, and then load the loose hay into the loft ! Talk about a lot of work !
Scared my Pop so bad he inlisted into the Navy during the war, 1942 !

Hi Scotty, yes that fellow driving the horse is my uncle (mother's brother), and I actually helped out many years ago piling the hay onto the wagon (by that time they had a tractor) and helped load it into the loft of the barn. I was foolish enough and young enough to think it was fun at the time, but then I only did it a few times when I was visiting on vacation!! Egon, your pile is WAYYYY too complicated for us Cumberland County types!
