Haying with a 2710

I have a 2710 kubota and would like to do some small scale haying. I don't have any haying equipment now, but small, older equipment is available in my area. Will a 2710 run a square baler? What is the best way to cut hay with this tractor? I want to keep this a low budget operation, so new equipment is out of the picture. I would like to hear from others who have experience or knowledge of haying with compact tractors. Thanks.

Jim, visit Carver Equipment's web site. I seem to recall him having some haying equipment for compacts, so maybe you'll find something of interest there. But basically I'd say the 2710 is just too small for a haying tractor - wish it were otherwise since I, too, have a 2710.

Haying Implements (mini) for Compact Tractors

The B 2710 is an excellent haying unit.... but only with the mini haying implements.

Yes, the balers - rakes- mowers-tedders do a real fine job behind tractors 17 hp and up.

The mini - implements cost no less that the full size ones -- they just produce mini round and/or square bales and do it well behind little tractors and in tight spaces.

One of the neighbors down the road from me cuts his hay with a large old fashioned cutter (looks like an overgrown reel mower) that he pulls with his ATV FourTrax.
