The replacement skidsteer that I'm buying already has a Amber warning light mounted to the back of the cab. The problem is that this is a obscured location which does not provide 360 visibility. I'll be using the machine to plow the driveway and I need to push the snow across the road. The road has a blind hill and the machine must be very visible to oncoming vehicles. If I do nothing else, I at least need to relocate the existing light to the roof. My old skidsteer had the light on the roof. It provided very good visibility, but it stuck up higher than I wanted. The clearance is very tight in my barn and I know that at some point I'll hit a bulb with it. Besides, I'm concerned a branch will pick the thing off. Initially I was thinking I'd get a low profile LED light, but I'm having trouble finding an affordable one that meets my needs. The cheap ones can't be seen during the day and they're still quite tall. The expensive lights are definetly better made and brighter, but they're beyond my budget. I then got thinking about the 3 LED light bars. The ones that people fasten to the grills or mirrors. If I put a bar on each side of the cab I'd have 360 visibility, it would be low profile and affordable. But which brand? There are almost too many options. Yes, a budget is a criteria, but I also want the lights to be visible and to last.

We kinda when through the same amber strobe grief as you are. We work at night and commonly its snowing out, so visibility is poor. We started out with a class 1 which only cost $50 but so dim, I'd call it 90% worthless. We then purchased a class 2 Grote for about $150 Amazon.com: Grote 77693 Low Profile Heavy-Duty Strobe Light: Automotive

We're now got three of these powerful strobes. They are BRIGHT and we've yet to have one fail. Sure they cost plenty but having people actually see us and not kill an operator has value as well. After using both class I and II's, we'd never, ever go back to I's. They are some much brighter.
