Bought my 4310/300CX in the middle of a BIG dirt project and needed bucket teeth fast. I had them on the old tractor but they wouldn't work on the new bucket.

Luckily we have a shop locally that services the coal mines, they have a huge inventory and great prices. I picked up the 23 series teeth and adaptors I had used to make the bar for my 210 loader. Well, with the 3/4" wear edge of the HD bucket they just weren't going to work. They recommended I bring the bucket with me when I returned the teeth so they could see what they had. 3 guys spent about forty minutes trying dozens of different teeth on the bucket! Man, I LOVE places that still have service!! I even appologized for taking up their time with such a small sale and they said "that's what we're here".

What we ended up with was a BYG "Mini-03" one piece tooth for a mini excavator at $7 each. They fit the cutting edge very well, forward bolt holes line up with the ones already driled in the bucket (for the bolt on wear edge) and they sit completely flush with the bottom of the bucket. Used a 7/16" plow bolt after countersinking the hole at bottom of the bucket (just so the bolts sit flush). A carriage bolt could be used with out counter sinking, you would just have a little protrusion.

I originaly wanted teeth to weld to a bar like my old set-up. More for the added strength than the ability to remove it (my old one was removable with two bolts and it came off once!). The shop guys all agreed that the 3/4" wear edge would be plenty strong and that a bolt would fail before the edge bent. After 80 hours of dirt, gravel (removing a 30 year old road!) and pulling 3 trees, they were right. I popped one center tooth off trying to use it to pry a tree stump out> I know, that should go into the what not to do with an FEL thread:ashamed: The bolt seperated cleanly. A new bolt and that tooth was back on in minutes.

The only down side is that the spacing of the existing bolt holes isn't ideal for tooth spacing at 6" on center and 10 holes. I bought 10 teeth but decided to space them out a little for now. They look a little funny but have worked great! Besides, I can re-arrange them and add or remove teeth anytime:D If you're looking for teeth on the cheap this has worked great for me!

Is there an additional catalog number where BYG Mini-03 can be cross referenced?

The tooth shown doesn't look to be the same profile, and wonder if a pic could be posted to show the fit (which appears to be very good on KML's bucket).

Appreciate the info on the teeth.

I never said they were the same, just similar. In the fact that they are bolt on, one-peice, and do not have the part that goes under the bucket, thus resulting in a "flat-bottom".

At the time I was searching, these were the only ones I could find, and the cheapest to boot.

It appears that there are more, and avaliable at his local dealer, and just as cheap. I too wonder if they can be found online anywhere.

After some additional searching, I did find a BYG catalog and the Mini-03 part did come up. Didn't check on prices, but the following shows.

I found that same thing too. But no pricing listed. And just a google search of "byg mini-03" comes up empty. There must not be anyone selling these online.

The op was fortunate enough to have a dealer that had some in stock at an exceptional price:thumbsup:

Those are very similar to the teeth I used from augerteethonline.com

I had to give $7.59 each for them.

You found them local AND at a better price:thumbsup: Very nice indeed

Did you bolt the teeth to your cutting edge?
I need add a tooth bar to my loader and may go with these teeth...
Would require some drilling but that is no biggie...

Yep. Bolted them on. I had to drill holes too.

They are actually made for a bobcat, so the hole placement wasnt quite as desirable as I wanted, and some of my holes were a little off and made a few teeth a little crooked. But it all works the same.

You can read more about it here...http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachments/199977-my-new-bucket-teeth.html

Ok, I called the guy I bought them from , Jim Stoll, to see if he was ok with me putting his info out here and he had no problem with it...
He said they ship worldwide and would be happy to help anyone who wanted these teeth.
He is the first one listed but said any of the sales folks could get them for you.

Undercarriage and Parts | Boyd and Sons Machinery, LLC.

I've dealt with this company a few times and even though they are a big company, they have always treated me really well with my "little" stuff:thumbsup:

These are a nice, easy, and inexpensive tooth for the JD HD buckets and fit my bucket with no drilling. The profile is almost perfect and they sit completely flush with the bottom of the bucket. The teeth are set up for a bigger bolt but the 7/16 plow bolt worked really well for me and allows for the "no pain" use of the existing holes. I literaly had these teeth on in 10 minutes.

Hope this helps,

Kelly

Nice find KML thanks for sharing. You were able to bolt these right on in place of the original cutting edge bolts? I wonder if your bucket and the hd bucket that goes on 400 series is the same? Would anyone know for sure?
