First I would like to thank everyone for there help in my purchase of the 4710.

Tonight while I was looking through some information I found 2 things that I did not think of when I ordered the tractor. These are a heavy duty bucket & telescoping draft links.
How much heaver is the HD bucket than the standard bucket?
How helpful are the telescoping links?

The draft links can be a huge help. But they are a replacement part that you can order later. See if you even have the need, or if iMatch (or something like it) would be better for you. At least that's MY plan. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sounds like your new 4710 will be quite a setup.

Now, when does my 4310 arrive....?

...telescoping lift arms are a Must Have... a big time & aggravation saver...

they are the ideal complement to the 3-point hitch as a toothbar is to a bucket... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

See attachment for view of my JD HD bucket that I bought for my 4710. Note reinforced sides and bucket lip with bolt on cutting edge. The HD bucket is heavier gauge steel and very well built. Not sure on the weight....maybe 75-100lbs extra than the standard bucket. I'd recommend the HD bucket if you're planning on moving around heavy material like stone. The standard bucket with its light gauge steel will likely bend and warp when handling heavy loads. I'd also suggest getting the bolt on cutting edge as this could easily be reversed or replaced after sufficient wear occurs.

As for the telescoping draft links...GET THEM. They are a real convenience and makes hitching up your 3PH implements so much easier.

Thanks for the help. I ordered the HD bucket this morning. The salesman suggested I try the I match hitch before getting the telescoping links. Since the links are an add on, that is what I am going to do.

You mean he's going to loan you the I-match for a period of time to try out without costing you anything? If so, that's great. FWIW, the telescoping links for my 4710 cost me $207 plus install.

My tractor came with the telescoping links. And I use them a lot. I have never tried the I match or anything like it but the telescoping links works good enough for me. Now if you have a business where you are changing constantly during the day I could understand it.

Just my 2 cents

iMatch may be the cat's meow for some, but it is not for me- I have too many implements with too much difference in distance between the draft link pins to work for me. The combination of extendable draft links and the new horizontal bar stabilizers, as shown in John M III's photo, is gonna be sweet. Add to that a hyraulically extendable top link ( as in Top'n Tilt ), and you can hook up to virtually any cat. 1 implement with relative ease. Keep in mind, if you have/will have any PTO powered implements, such as mower, tiller, you'll have to get off the tractor anyway. In short, iMatch is slick, but it is limited.

Add to that the hydraulic side link as shown in the attachment and one is good to go for almost any field operation. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
