HDS 2155 belt self-destructives

I have a Cub Cadet HDS 2155 that is going through belts on a regular basis. I put a new belt on and it lasted one month! These belts are not cheap. It is the belt that goes from the engine to mower deck. The spring tension is at the stock setting. I also think that maybe mowing thick grass might have something to do with it but I just don't know. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I am not really familiar with your unit, but let me ask are you buying the belt from a dealer? if it is nor a belt made for a GT it will stretch then start to jump and finally destroy itself. ano. of years ago i tried to save a few$$$ and bout same size belt at aouto store for my old ALLIS GT , belt would last 3 hours of mowing, finaly had to go to daler and their belt worked fine. Just a thought.

Check all the pulleys, if one is pinching the belt it will cause it to stretch.
