Head on 336D wrong part?

The head on the 336D I just purchased is a 3T90T-J.

Does this seem normal?

My only info on that head, (engine), says it comes on a turbocharged JD 1050.

We talked to the guys at Yanmar a few years ago about that. They said that there were heads with different model numbers cast into them that were used on a lot of different engines- including the 336. It is normal for the model on the head to not necessarily match the engine model number on several tractors.

The 3T90T head can be used on turbo and non turbo engines. It can be used on the 336 non turbo, or 3810 turbo, and various other applications.

What is the difference in this head and the 3t84?

The 3t90 head can be used on turbo engines and some of the 3t84 heads cannot.

That's the head casting that's on my 3810D.

I would imagine yours is original equipment and not the wrong head but I am not an expert just guessing since it has to work if its on there.
