Headin' to San Antonio today

My wife and I are driving down to San Antonio today to Lackland AFB. My oldest grandson is graduating from Air Force Basic Training on Friday. We will get to spend a half-day with him on base tomorrow and then after graduating Friday, he will have a town pass so we can go celebrate. I'm really proud of this kid. He's very smart and will be going to avionics training at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX after Basic Training. He took the battery of tests and pretty much got any field he wanted because of his scores. He's a tall, clean-cut lookin' kid who is very polite and has a great life ahead if he plays his cards right. I'm very excited for him. I'm posting a picture of us before he went to BMT and I'll try to get a few more pictures of him this weekend in his new AF uniform. I'm also excited.

Jim that is wonderful.

It looks like I might be right on one of my sayings in your case, "it skips generations."

I've noticed the grandkids are usually more like their grandparents than they are their parents.

The kid not ony ended up with his grandpa's charm and good looks, sounds like the smarts hung along for the ride too.

We're happy for you and him.

Thanks Harvey.:) I gotta tell you tho' that his dad is a Senior Programmer and his mom (my daughter) is a stay-at-home mom who has reared four great kids while working on her Bachelor's Degree which she will receive next year. He could have gone to college easily, but decided he wanted the military experience. I think it's a wise choice.

Congrat's Jim and family. It's great to watch the grand kids grow up and move into adult life.

The graduation went as expected. The weather was cool, but very nice and we really enjoyed seeing our grandson, Bryan, graduate from basic training. He's heading to Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS for some general electronics training and then will be coming back to my area at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX. Here's a photo of the newest military serviceman in our family.:D

Great family Jim. My son wan'd to go Navy like his old man, looking at the Piece Corp now. He just had a haircut, buss cut. We are spending the holidays in the Philippines this year and my boy can have his choise of any of the young girls in the neighbor hood. They just love him. Tall, dark, college educated with a pocket full of pesos, dang, I just describes a junior officer. A chief will steer him in the right direction.

Jim,
Congrats! It's always a blessing when you see some of your family succeed and do good. That's the best compliment as a testament to good ethics and family values. Of course, we're not sure where you fit in!:laughing:

Great news and we're happy for you.
