After playing around a lot and reading even more, I've finally gotten a decent headlight bulb. Kubota B2630 - standard dynamo. Came with 1073 bulbs @ 23w each. Very dim yellow light. Upgraded to a 795 bulb @ 50w each. I had no heat problem, but I wanted to add a rear worklight. No way could I run the headlights, worklights, and flashers without putting a drain on the battery even with the rpm's up. Tried a couple of led bulbs - they sucked.
Solution - Sylvania Silverstar 1156 ST bulbs. They are 26.9w each and only 7.99 at Auto Zone - for 2! The glass on the bulb is pale blue. The light is very bright and crisp white. Very noticable difference. Comparable to the 50w 795's but a whiter white. I'm sold. Highly recommended to all those with headlight woes.
