Heads up on Titan quick hitch and Bolt On Hooks extended top hook.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to get a "Heads Up" out there for anyone with a Titan branded quick hitch. I needed an extended hook to work with a couple of my own attachments, so I ordered the hook from Ken at Bolt On Hooks. It turns out, when the new hook arrived (very fast shipping), it was the EXACT same size as the top hook that came with my Titan quick hitch.



I sent Ken an email about it, and got a very fast response that I could obviously return the hook, and he apologized saying that they hadn't run into this before. I think he also said they would put the actual dimensions of the hook on their website moving forward (right now it just says their hook "extends 5/8" over the existing hook", or something similar).

My order process was smooth and shipping was fast. I ordered it on Saturday, they shipped it Monday, I got it Wednesday. Very pleased with Ken's customer service. So, this is not meant to be negative towards their products in any way.

I also ordered the quick change pin set for the hook at the same time. The pin set works perfectly, and I'll be keeping that no matter what.

Only thing I have to decide is if I want to return my hook (which Ken already said I could do), or take both hooks to a local weld shop and see if they can weld me up what I need (I still need a hook extension, so returning the hook leaves me where I was before).

So also want to thank Ken for offering up his products. Still think it's a great company, with great customer service.

I’m not familiar with these quick hitches as all we’ve ever had was John Deere.

However if all you’re concerned with is having the hook a little longer to make it easier to attach, it should be easy to extend.

Keep in mind the extended lip shouldn’t have to be anywhere near as heavy as the hook itself. A short piece of flat bar is all that’s necessary and can be welded with a small welder. (Small welding MACHINE. NOT small person)

Unless of course I’m missing the point here.

The quick hitch sold at Agri Supply has ALWAYS come with the extended hook.

Yeah Terry, very simple to extend the hook. Makes it much easier to hookup. Very little load on the extended tip.
