Bob, did you know that Oliver had a purple tractor once? I think it was an 1800 or 1850. They were using it as a demonstration only for their plows, to show that it did not matter what color your tractor was, it would work with an Oliver plow. None were sold that way though.

If I recall correctly, I saw an article about a series of "x" tractors that Oliver produced. Each was a demonstration tractor and each was produced in a different color. I think there were 4 of them. "x" stood for experimental and they were used at shows. I can't remember the years they were made or anything like that, but I do remember seeing the photos of a bright red one included with the article. I believe it was in an issue of the Hart-Parr Oliver's Collectors magazine about 3 or 4 years ago. I'm not sure if the purple tractor you are referring to was one of those 4 machines or not, but Oliver did do some creative things (up until they were fully engulphed by White).
Moon . . . I think you are referring to the Lenor (or is it Lenar) tractors?
