Hearing Protection w/Radio

   / Hearing Protection w/Radio #31
I have a set of the AOA saftey work tunes that are ok but they will loose station when turning your head ( that got old quickly) so I went a bought a Sony walkman radio...one of them small am/fm units that you can clip on your belt or wherever with a detachable headset, I then grabbed a standard set of comfortable muffs that I already had and drilled a hole in each ear muff with a small drill bit and clipped the wires and siliconed the speakers in the muffs and re-soldered the wires.

I just mounted the radio on the top of the muffs with a zip tie, it works much better, I very seldom loose a radio signal.

Someday I will get one of them little MP3 players and try it out.

I bought my Digital Peltors from this website
Radio Earmuff-The New Peltor Digital Radio Earmuff

Peltor has an amazing number of variations. I did see one version with jacks for external receiver and microphone as well as those for ext. receiver and built in microphone. then there's aviation types with headphones and built in mike and a jack for external receiver like walkman.
But where you can buy them I don't know. I guess that's where google comes in.
Anyhow, Peltor is Peltor
