Heat lamp for cold nights?

"Is condensation ever a problem when a tractor or various parts of it are at a higher temperature than surrounding air?"

I never had a problem last winter. Air is pretty dry in the winter anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem. My garage is not heated.

Basically no different than putting your warm car in the garage in the winter and then shutting it off; don't do anything special for that.

Bob, my tractor is kept indoors in an unheated, uninsulated shop building (concrete floor). Once early this year, I went out there and found the whole underside of the tractor, including the tires, wet with water dripping on the floor; just condensation. But oddly enough, it was only for one day.

My L3010 is kept in a crude structure that roughly approximates a car port ($150 to roof over a 20x10 area, it ain't pretty). It had been cool but very foggy last weekend. I noticed a LOT of condensation on my rear wheels. You could see a perfect line at about the top of the rim where the condensation stopped. Would be mysterious if I didn't know about the fluid in the tire.

I guess I was thinking more about internal condensation.. water in fuel, in hyrdraulic system, etc. But, I suppose if the water condenses it must have been in there in the first place?

I had a strange incident of condensation just the other day. My tractor was in the garage, and it was completely dry and happy except for the suitcase weights which were all sopping wet. I mean dripping wet. I smelled them.. just appeared to be water. Nothing else on the machine was even damp. Go figger, as they say.

Bob the suitcase weights have alot of thermal mass. So they will take longer to cool down or heat up ambient temperature. The same is true for liquid filled tires.

Nope, the oposite condition is the problem, like when your glasses fog up when you come in the house from the cold.
