WE have an 873 with an oil cab heater and cannot get heat,we have replaced all components but no luck, have checked oil flow but dos'nt seem like enough. Am lost to the next step.

Have you checked the heater valve, in the hose going into the heater core. Make sure it is opening. All else fails take the 2 hoses off and connect the together (eliminate the valve to see if you get heat).

Couple of ideas.
Is the core blocked? blow air to clear as it might be blocked with sludge.*
Also blow lines from and to.
What is the oil pressure like? low pressure would cause that as flow would be reduced and low pressure could indicate other problems like bearings, oil pump internal blocked passages etc.

* A heater core is like a radiator, lots of fine passages to plug up with sludge etc. And oil generally carries some sludge along with it.
A good soaking of the core and some air pressure could clear that up.
Note you are in north where it is colder. Cold oil gets thick (gells). Is the engine hot enough? Summer thick oil?

we have replaced heater core and new hoses,Also took out the valve and check it out, seems to be opening & closing fine. As it is oil op. heater what to block to raise oil temp?

FYI, jsut because you can see the lever move on outside of the valve does not mean it is working. Majority of time when these fail, the actuator lever moves but has come loose inside and valve is stuck. Try running some water through it with voltage connected to see if it is acutally opening and closing.
Pressure to the system comes from the engine oil pump, if you don't have pressure or flow to feed the heater the engine would be showing low oil pressure. If thermostat was stuck, little or no heat to the heater but then engine would be overheating after warm up. If engine is low on oil could affect heater preformance.

thank you for the input.
