Does heating fuel have ant anti-gel in it? And what grade is it (1-2)?

If I remember correctly, #1 is more like Kero, #2 is more like diesel..#1 is recommended for above ground storage.

Heating fuel usually is not treated for cold temps as it is usually stored in a somewhat heated space. Heating oil intended for outside storage, i.e. mobile homes, is a kerosene blend. MikeD74T

When we heated with an oil furnace we would either get a mix 50/50 kero diesel or just add straight kero. Our tank was outside.

*Home heating oil Fuel oil and Diesel diesel are all the same stuff in most places except for those that haven't completely switched over to ULSD .
**That Depends on when you buy it ;I E Winter or summer.

I heat with #2 home heating oil that's bought in the summer.
It's high sulfur diesel fuel dyed red and stored outside. No kero or anti-gel added to it ( at least by me ).

A buddy has a mobile home and it calls for Kero. My home furnace calls for #2

Most that I serviced were supposed to burn #1 oil, not kero and not furnace oil (#2)
