My father in law cut up some old trailer house frames and used them as borders for his garden. They are 12" tall I-beams and should be there for many decades. The corners have angle iron welded on the inside so grass can't sneak in there...

Not the best pictures since the sun was sitting:

I like it!!! What is he trying to keep out?

That sure is a tidy looking raised garden; but around here, those wire panels wouldn't keep out anything, dogs squirrels, deer, kids, rabbits, coons, possums, etc.....probably a cow or horse wouldn't venture in.

It needs to have the chicken wire at the bottom and raised to about eight feet for deer. .... IHMO.

Your plantings sure look good for the moment, however.

Actually, I've found that a fence is a PITA for me....It tends to keep me going for the gate, either in or out.:(

I asked the same thing about the chicken wire. He said he is just trying to keep deer out and hasn't had a problem with small critters. It will be easy to add chicken wire later on if needed. I'm also curious of that height of fence will keep the deer out. Time will tell!
